Client: Multiple Independent Operators
Location: Eagle Ford Shale
Well Type: Cemented Horizontal Lateral
Hole Size: 8.500” to 8.750”
Surface Casing Test Pressures Achieved: 7,500 to 10,500 psi
Toe Injection Rates Achieved: 7 to 15 bpm
The objective is to test the casing to a pressure above frac pressure, then open the ORIO™ Toe Valve (Patented) to establish an injection rate. High pressure casing tests are required prior to the frac job to ensure casing integrity. Toe injection is also required prior to the completion to allow the guns and or balls to be pumped down.
Historically, operators were limited in their options. Tubing conveyed perforating guns were the most common technique to open the toe. This technique is costly and often problematic. The TEAM Oil Tools ORIO™ toe valve was chosen as it allows for casing tests in excess of 15,000 psi and further allows the operator to hydraulically open the toe to establish an injection rate without any remedial operations.
The TEAM Oil Tool’s ORIO™ Toe Valve has performed flawlessly since its introduction into the Eagle Ford Shale. Operators are achieving high surface casing tests followed by high injection rates which allow for frac plugs to be pumped to depth.
The TEAM Oil Tool ORIO™ Toe Valve allows operators the ability to test the casing to pressures in excess of frac pressures and further open the toe to injection without any remedial operations. Estimated savings are upwards of $120,000 per well.
